254. Work Means Faith
Great is the work in which all the prophets engaged, for the Shechina [Divinity] was not present in Israel until they did “work” (Midrash Gadol ve Gedola, Chapter 14). We should interpret that “work” means faith (see the essay, “Great Is Work that Honors”).
