831. The Need for the Torah

After the future. Zebulun gives sustenance, meaning he receives sustenance in the manner of poverty, and in this manner he will learn Torah. It follows that the Torah gives Malchut the strength to sustain the poor, and the Torah will furnish the poor. Thus, power is called “sustenance.” In other words, since he wants wars, he wants the Torah to give him the strength to work, and he works in order to have a need for the Torah.
