The First Ten in the House of Assembly
15. Happy is the man who is among the first ten in the house of assembly, since what is completed, is completed in them, for there is no congregation of less than ten, as they are the instilling of the ten Sefirot of the Shechina [Divinity], and they are sanctified first in the Shechina.
But there must be ten simultaneously in the house of assembly, and not come one by one, so the wholeness of the organs will not be delayed. This is so because the Creator made man at once, and founded all the organs for him together, as it is written, “He has made you and established you.” Once all the man’s organs were complete, at that time, each organ was properly founded in itself. But before he was entirely complete, no organ was corrected.
The Shechina is like that: When she comes first to the house of assembly, there must be ten there together, corresponding to the ten Sefirot of the Shechina, who is a complete level, and then what is completed is completed. But before there are ten there, none of them is complete.
Afterwards, everything is corrected, as it is written, “The king is glorified in the multitude of people.” For this reason, afterwards, the people come, after the first ten who have already completed the organs of the Shechina, which are her ten Sefirot. They are all the correction of the body of the Shechina since “The king is glorified in the multitude of people.”
16. When the Shechina comes first and ten people have not yet come together, the Creator calls out, “Why have I come and there is no man?” There is no man, for the organs have not been founded, for even if there are nine people there, none of them is corrected and the body of the Shechina has not been completed, since when the body is not complete with ten, there is no man, of course; none of them is complete. This is why it is precisely, “there is no man.”
17. When the body is complete below, when there are ten, upper holiness comes and enters the body, and the lower one becomes exactly as the upper one, since the ten Sefirot of the Shechina clothe in the ten of the congregation. At that time, everyone must avoid opening their mouths to speak of worldly matters, since now Israel are in the upper wholeness, and are sanctified in the upper sanctity, and happy are they.
