The Firstborn Son

54. Rabbi Shimon came and kissed Moses’ hands. He said, “You must be a son from the world of Atzilut, in the form of his firstborn son,” Tifferet, the son of upper AVI, that Atzilut is His without cessation. “No other son preceded you, not in thought, not in speech, and not in action.” Moses said, “You, and the friends, and the heads of the seminaries, who are summoned here with Me, are without cessation whatsoever, and without a mixture of the Sitra Achra,” discerned as the world of Atzilut. They all kissed one another, they were acquainted in brotherhood, and wept.

55. Rabbi Shimon opened and said, “Nevertheless, the firstborn son, Moses, all his brothers must respect him, for it is written, “Honor your father.” Et [“the,” part of the verse in Hebrew] is to include your big brother, whom you must honor. And even from all the phases, it is already interpreted about you in the Torah that the words “for he is also” are Abel, that Moses was the soul of Abel. Adam HaRishon did not have a firstborn son before him, since Cain was from the side of the serpent, and Abel was from the side of Adam. “For he is also” are Moses, since “For he is also” have the letters of Moses [in Hebrew], the king’s son in every place. You are the firstborn from the side of the tree of life, good and evil; you are good, as it is written, “And God saw that the light was good,” and also, “And she saw him, that he was good.” Interpretation: Angel Matat is called “the tree of life, good and evil, and Moses is regarded as its good.

56. For this, the Creator called you “faithful servant,” since a servant is from the side of Matat. Afterwards, you rose to be a king, as it is written, “And He was King in Yeshurun,” and then a household member above. You were a king from the side of Malchut of Beria, a household member from the side of Bina of Beria, and now you are a king from the side of the tree, Malchut of Atzilut. A household member from the side of Yod-Hey, Tifferet of Atzilut, happy are you. Who caused you this? It is because of your exertion in Torah and commandments to unite the Creator and His Shechina, to bring the king to his place, and for his armies above, and for Israel below.

57. For this reason, everyone inherits from him souls of Atzilut and are called “his sons,” from the name HaVaYaH of Atzilut, where there is no separation and cutting. In the beginning, it was said about them that they are the sons of the Creator and His Shechina from the side of HaVaYaH in the world of Beria, as it is written about him, “Anyone who is called by My name, and whom I have created, formed, and made for My glory.” I have created him from the side of HaVaYaH in Beria, formed him from the side of Yetzira, and made him from the side of Assiya, and now they have become sons of HaVaYaH of Atzilut.
