Lord, You Preserve Man and Beast

52. It is written, “Your righteousness is like the mountains of God.” Justice is the upper, holy Sefira, Malchut. “The mountains of God” are the high and holy mountains, the mountains of pure persimmon, Bina. Since Malchut ascends to connect with them above, since Malchut was incorporated with Bina and received her judgments from her, there are no Rachamim [mercies] in all her judgments, since they are the Katnut [smallness/infancy] of Bina, and they are a preparation to receive the Gadlut [greatness/adulthood] of Bina. This is why it is written, “Your judgments are a great deep.” A sentence is mercy, the Mochin of Gadlut of Bina, which she receives through ZA, who is called “a sentence.” He descends to the degree of Malchut to correct the world, and has mercy on everything, and executes the judgment with mercy to perfume the world.

53. Because he is mercy, Mochin of Gadlut, “O Lord, You preserve man and beast,” everyone, equally, for the illuminations of the left, called “beast,” also receive their correction. “Man and beast” is one who is a man but makes himself like a beast.” However, man and beast means that man’s judgment and a beast’s judgment are one. It is written about Adam, “He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised.” It is written about a beast, “It shall be seven days with its mother; and from the eighth day and thereafter, it shall be accepted as an offering made by fire to the Lord,” so they would live through one Shabbat.
