He Shall Take as His Wife a Virgin from His Own People
38. Moses opened and said, “It is a commandment for the high priest to marry a virgin, as it is written, “A widow, or a divorced woman, or a woman who has been defiled, or a prostitute, these he shall not take; but he shall take as his wife a virgin from his own people.” Why is it necessary for him to take only a virgin, without a flaw? A woman is a cup of blessing. If it has been tasted, it has been flawed. This implies Malchut, who is called “a cup of blessing,” and the priest, who offers a sacrifice before the Creator, must be perfect and flawless in his organs, without any defect, since the defects flaw the priest. Perfect in his body; perfect in his Nukva, to observe through it the verse, “You are all beautiful, my wife, and there is not a flaw in you.”
39. The offering is a gift. Israel must send their gift to the king via a perfect person, since they are in oppositeness from the Sitra Achra, who would send their gifts to the Sitra Achra through an imperfect person, as it is written, “one lot to the Lord, and one lot to Azazel,” since other gods are all flawed from the north side, as it is written, “from the north shall evil break out.” Likewise, most of the houses of idol-worshippers are flawed in their Nukva, who is a ruin, Lilit, flawed.
40. Moses is ZA, Vav of HaVaYaH, filled with abundance from HB, Yod-Hey of HaVaYaH. He is in the order Yod-Hey-Vav, which is why all three letters are in him, Yod-Hey-Vav of HaVaYaH. The bottom Hey of HaVaYaH, Malchut, is a cup full of the blessing of the Lord from the right side, a cup of blessing. From the side of Gevura, judgment, the Shechina is called HaVaYaH. The letter Hey controls this combination, judgment over Vav, Rachamim [mercy]. Yod-Hey, the Mochin, at the end of the combination, indicate judgment, as it is written, “Behold, the hand of the Lord will be on your cattle,” for Malchut, who is called “the hand of the Lord,” is in the combination HaVaYaH [the Lord], to execute judgment in Egypt’s cattle.
