The Right Must Be Raised Above the Left
81. “And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them.” It writes “His hands” without a Yod [indicating plural in Hebrew] to indicate that one should raise the right above he left, to show a deed below so that a corresponding deed will awaken above.
82. “And you are to sound the Shofar [festive horn] far and wide on the tenth day of the seventh month, Yom HaKippurim [Day of Atonement].” Why sound the Shofar? The Shofar breaks the chains of the imprisoned in the shackles of enslavement, breaks the governance over all the slaves, for sounding the horn means breaking. Also, one must show a straight Shofar and not a twisted one, to show freedom to all, since the day causes. In everything, we must show the act below in order to awaken its corresponding act above. Hence, a Shofar and not a horn, to show from which place it is, since a Shofar is Bina, and a horn is Malchut.
83. Happy are Israel in this world and in the next world, for they know how to adhere to the holy king, awaken the power of above, and draw the holiness of their Master over them. This is why it is written, “Happy are you, Israel, who is like you, a people saved by the Lord,” and also, “And you, who adhere to the Lord your God, are alive every one of you this day.”
84. It is written, “You shall observe My commandments and do them,” the commandments of the master of the world. Observing includes the act, as well, so why is it written, “and do”? Also, all the commandments in the Torah are in two manners: remember and keep, which are one. Remember is for ZA, keep is for Malchut, for the Nukva. If keep is for the Nukva, why is it written, “You shall observe My commandments,” which implies that all the commandments are only in the female, in guarding?
85. “Observe” means keep, and “do” is remember. It is all one; remember is doing, for one who mentions anything below, he corrects, for the same thing is done above. The commandments are 613 commandments, which are the whole of male and female, remember and keep, ZA and Malchut, and it is all one.
