Zohar for All, Volume 6

Seven Days He Shall Fill

22. It is written, “When the Lord restored the captives of Zion, we were as dreamers.” “When the Lord restores the captives” was said in the Babylonian exile, and they were in exile no more than seventy years, as it is written, “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you,” and it is written, “we were as dreamers,” a seventy-year dream.

23. “For seven days shall he fill your hand.” Who are the seven days? Bina, who contains within her HGT NHY, is called “seven days,” and “repentance.” One who sits in torment [fasting] on Shabbat [Sabbath], his verdict is torn for seventy years. Seventy years are the seven faces of the king, the seven Sefirot HGT NHYM, each of which contains ten, which are seventy. Even if all of them agree against him, the verdict is torn, since one who sits in fasting is gripped to a day that contains all of them: Bina, who is called “seven,” and who is called “repentance.” For this reason, when he grips there, he grips to all seventy years when he repents. Hence, everyone’s verdict is torn. This is why there are seventy years in the dream.

The dream during sleep means departure of the Mochin. The exile is sleep. This is why The Zohar calls the years of exile by the name “dream,” and this is why the departure of the Mochin of ZA lasts seventy years., for there are seven Sefirot in them, HGT NHYM, with ten in each. This is why it is written, “we were as dreamers.”

24. The priest is crowned with seven, which are Bina, who is called “seven days.” If the priest blemishes his head, then that seven, Bina, which is the inclusion of all seven days HGT NHYM, makes him bald from all of that holiness of everyone, which is on the priest. This is why they were careful not to make a bald place in their head, for they would be flawed in all seven Sefirot. For this reason, the priest must be in more wholeness than everyone. It is especially so with the highest of them, the high priest.

25. Here in the bottom Hey, here in the first Hey, the high priest, the highest of all, blemishes the first Hey, Bina, as it is written, “on whose head the anointing oil is poured and who has filled his hand,” Bina, as it is written, “For seven days shall he fill your hand.” The seven days are Bina, the first Hey of HaVaYaH. Another priest blemishes the bottom Hey of HaVaYaH, Malchut, as it is written, “They shall not make any bald place on their heads.” It is written after that, “and they shall not desecrate the name of their gods,” Malchut, the bottom Hey. For this reason, it is written, “The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had the anointing oil poured on his head and has been ordained to wear the priestly garments.” The anointing oil indicates the abundance of Abba, who receives from Ima, the first Hey. Because he is holy such as above, it is written, “He shall not come out of the Temple,” like upper AVI, whose coupling never stops.
