Kingdom and Kingship

186. Mount Zion means strength. The mountains above are the righteous who grip the assembly of Israel, who is called “Mount Zion,” the kingship. They, the righteous, are the mountains surrounding Jerusalem, as it is written, “Jerusalem, mountains around it,” since they are excellent and tell each other in the concealment of the unification, “to judge the mountain of Esau,” the enemies and oppressors of Israel, from the left side.

187. At that time, it is written, “And the kingship will be to the Lord.” At first, Malchut was called “kingdom” since she nurses two sides: right and left. Now she is called “kingship” because she nurses the right side. It is written, “And I will wed you to Me forever,” since there will no longer be exile, since if there is another exile, it will not be forever since she sits in the exile.

188. It is written, “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth, in that day, the Lord will be one and His name One.” This is so because until now, when Israel were in exile, the Shechina was in exile with them, and a king without a queen is not a king. But at that time, “The Lord will be one and His name One.” The word “one” implies that the Shechina is adhered to Yesod, and when the Shechina is adhered to a righteous, Yesod, it is the unification of the queen with the king.
